Colts Neck Boudoir Photos | BEAUTY IS TIMELESS

July 25, 2014 /

Taking care of oneself is a fundamental aspect of being beautiful. In just about every way possible, we see this truth in the studio. People of all ages, sizes and backgrounds make grand entrances into an experience of a lifetime when they arrive here to be photographed. They realize that they are capturing a wonderful moment in time before another second of age steals away the eye candy of youth.  For those of our clients considering planning Colts Neck Boudoir Photos with us, you’ll find such inspiration from this powerhouse.

Stephanie, a personal trainer, knows all about taking care of herself. This former attorney and figure competitor looks half her age; perhaps even younger when viewed though a camera. Her fantastic physique graced our on-site locations and she was an absolute natural. In addition to her rockin’ boudoir images, Stephanie artfully posed like the model she is on our romantic balcony which overlooks the courtyard. My personal favorite image is of her wispy gaze peeking out from beneath a fur-lined hood. Simply gorgeous.

It’s hard to believe that woman has two teenage children! What a role model she has been for them. How wonderful that they will have some epic photographs of their mother to look back upon. Perhaps they will be inspired to keep living a healthy lifestyle.

Stephanie is proof that our bodies reflect how we treat them. When we consistently take good care of our skin, our muscles, and eat what benefits us, our bodies thank us. And we thank you, Stephanie, for sharing the masterpiece that is you.

Here is what Stephanie said in reflection of her experience:

I knew from the moment I entered the private drive that leads up the Je Revele Castle, that I was going to have a very memorable and special day! I could not help being swept away by the romantic atmosphere of the castle. I felt like I had been swept back to another time! When I entered the studio I was greeted by a wonderful Je Revele team member and the pampering began! I was immediately offered a glass of champagne (quite an indulgence at 9:00 am!), and a lovely fruit tray with assorted pastries. As I began to unwind from my 90 minute drive from PA the make up artist arrived. More pampering! I was soon transformed from my usual gym-rat self into a glamour goddess! This stylist was nothing short of AMAZING.
Then the wonderful Miss Natalie arrived! I had seen her incredible work and was already in awe of her, but her charm, humor and ability to make me feel at ease in front of the camera made me feel even more so! I was slightly nervous about such an intimate shoot, but it quickly melted away as Natalie made me giggle with nearly every click of the shutter!

I felt so empowered during the shoot! Sexy, confident, beautiful and happy! It is an indescribable high that every woman should indulge in at least once! I originally did this shoot for my husband, but the next one will be for myself!

The entire experience was a wonderful memory that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Oh, and did I mention the photography? The images speak for themselves. Too many great ones to choose from. The greatest compliment of all was the e-mail I received from my husband after I sent him the images from the i-phone app. He wrote that in the 21 years that we have been married he had never seen my beauty brought out so eloquently by any other photographer.
Natalie Licini, you are a STAR, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like one too!!

Stephanie, you, my dear, are a star as well. Thanks for sharing your beauty with all of us!

40th Birthday Ideas For Women: The “Four T”s of Turning Forty

40th birthday ideas

Forty.

As I type this number, I find it hard to believe that they will represent my age in a matter of days.

I don’t find the number to symbolize being old. It’s not necessarily a symbol of maturity. To me, it isn’t a determinant of anything I was hoping to be by now. Perhaps that’s because so many people I know have completely reinvented themselves in years much past the ripe age of 40. It’s not a big deal, right? It’s not about beauty or youth. Some of the most beautiful women (and men) I have ever met are older than 40. Some are first time parents!  I spent weeks thinking of 40th birthday ideas.

So what is it? What captivates so many people about this age?

While I remain perplexed about the hoopla of this birthday number to avoid at all costs, I think turning 40 is one of the single most important rites of passage a person can experience. Here are FOUR reasons why I think this is true.

The “Four T”s of Turning Forty

Transition from Youth.
At one time, people used to consider themselves middle-aged at forty. People twice this age used to be seen as frail or on death’s door, perhaps dying in a nursing home somewhere. Today, people are living into the 100s, so therefore it seems that forty year olds aren’t exactly halfway through their lives yet. Although 40 isn’t the midpoint anymore, I do think that people who are 40 are in an ideal situation. They can see quite clearly the past and its impact on a potential future. A forty-year old can recall with ease, and sometimes angst, all the ways he or she has improved over the years. We can think back and smile, remembering the mistakes we made, with the knowledge that we won’t recreate the same experiences, if we can help it.

Trust in Oneself.
Because there have been four decades of experience accrued, a forty-something person have gleaned quite a history of experience. While the teens and twenties were about wondering what our friends thought, and the thirties concerned with what the neighbors and Facebook friends thought, forty is finally the time where it’s about What “I” think, and what “I” want. Having lived through years of choices made upon the suggestions of others, a person’s inner compass is much more in command. Instead of being fearful of what might happen when making a big decision, I can remind myself of how I have lots of resources and connections to help me should things not go as planned. Less panic, more support. Less worry, more belief in oneself.

Total Body Acceptance.
Once predominately a vehicle for getting attention, through overall shape, body art, or muscular agility, our bodies have proven themselves to be miraculous temples. Many forty year olds have experienced childbirth, illnesses, and weight gains and losses at least once in their lifetimes. Wrinkles have appeared and gray hairs have triumphed. No longer can we survive on 3 hours of sleep and nacho chips and soda diets. And while we may feel as though our bodies have failed us, we realize the importance of taking care of it. Our bodies are with us through every experience.

Dating as a forty year old is drastically different in comparison to dating in the twenties. Often times, the opposite sex has learned to appreciate the wisdoms offered by and experienced partner perfection becomes overrated. Being 40, for many people, is the time they do less comparing of themselves to fashion magazines and more to the weight that feels best for oneself. And while many of us try to get back the bodies we had in our twenties, we find comfort in knowing that our peers also join us in such reminiscing. To be honest, I’ll take a few fine lines on my face over acne any day of the week!

True Friendships.
Being forty is especially wonderful when you can think of friends you have known for most of your life. There are few finer things in life than the shared memories between longtime friends. During the twenties and thirties, we were still testing out some of our friendships. By forty, we often tout friendships that span 20+ years.
I have a friend that I met when I was about 18 years old. I think of all of the talks we have had, the adventures we have been on, the times we covered for each other, the times we didn’t speak to each other, the ups and downs of relationships we have been in, and the highs and lows of life in general. Now that we both have young children, the joy we both feel in watching our children grow up together is magnified by our rich history. When I compare my friendships to those I had in my teens and twenties, there isn’t any question of which decade I’d rather be in with my friends.

For many reasons, including the Four Ts I outlined above, I look forward to my own rite of passage, my entrance into the era of my 40s. Armed with a real appreciation for what truly matters, I’m excited for what is yet to come. I’m still young enough to get out there and try something different.  I could only think of two perfect 40th Birthday Ideas for myself.  Dinner with my very dear friends and boldly planning my boudoir photo shoot at the castle.  I was tempted to plan a boudoir portrait party, maybe next milestone.

NYC boudoir photo studio | Testimonial for Je Revele

April 5, 2014 /

NYC boudoir photo studio

I’m not sure how many people reading this post have had a boudoir session in the NYC area, but I have.  It’s such an exciting and liberating experience.  A bit nerve wrecking too.  It’s also a core requirement for the entire Je Revele team as well.  Jess, Kristin and Charity have all been photographed in the last 18 months by me.  I wish I could share photos but they’re under lock and key.  hehe

One of our gorgeous clients came by to pickup her album and thanked us for the experience. I asked her if she’d mind sharing a few of those words on video.  Sometimes our clients feel a little nervous when planning a session with us.

Jenna F boudoir testimonial for Je Revele a NYC boudoir photography studio.

In 2013 we photographed over 135 fabulous women for boudoir and glamour sessions at the castle in Highland Park, NJ and on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.   Our lovely client Jenna was looking to setup a boudoir session in New Jersey last year.  When she called us, we were so excited to meet her.  Jessica photographed Jenna last Summer and boy did I wish I did too.  Michelle styled her on the day and looked absolutely breathtaking.

We created an album for Jenna and when she picked up her products she was so thrilled I asked if she wouldn’t mind sharing her experience on video.  If you’re considering booking a shoot in our NYC boudoir photo studio – give us a call anytime.

With photography studios located on the Upper West Side in NYC and in a historic NJ Castle, Je Revele’s award winning team of artists look for the subtleties and stories that others may not often see.

If you’re thinking of planning a luxurious NYC or New Jersey boudoir photography experience in a historic castle, give us a call.  Our sessions are all about you.  We can plan an era inspired session (think 1930′s glamour).  Do you have a special occasion coming up? Wedding or special birthday?  We photograph women age 22 through 64+ who want to celebrate life, and celebrate themselves.  After all you only live once.  We would love to create iconic photographic art with our team of talented boudoir photographers at Je Revele.

Destination boudoir photography sessions are the latest craze hitting NYC.    At Je Revele, it’s no secret that we make it our priority to ensure that our client’s feel welcomed, pampered and beautiful.  Every sip of champagne, nibble of delicate pastries, and words shared between our staff and clients is a moment of pleasure.

So, just imagine…you’ve arranged a weekend trip to New York City.  You’d start your day strolling through Central Park and admiring the famed skyline, which frames the lush trees of the park. After a delightful lunch in Little Italy, shopping in Soho you and a few friends head to our studio, located on the Upper West Side or our castle studio just 40 minutes away.  Cascading ribbons of sunlight stagger through the architecture of the building. You’d be pampered and styled as only a model could be.   After a glamorous photo shoot, you slip into a fantastic outfit and spend the rest of your evening enjoying some of NYC’s delicious cuisine; concluding the night with a Broadway show.  It is guaranteed to be one of the most fabulous weekends you will ever experience.  Take our word for it.

So much of what we do at Je Revele Fine Art Photography Studios goes beyond photography. So much of who we are reflects who YOU are.  As artist, we look for the subtleties and stories that others may not often see. We listen with our eyes to the many ways epic beauty is expressed.
