Colts Neck Boudoir Photos | BEAUTY IS TIMELESS

July 25, 2014 /

Taking care of oneself is a fundamental aspect of being beautiful. In just about every way possible, we see this truth in the studio. People of all ages, sizes and backgrounds make grand entrances into an experience of a lifetime when they arrive here to be photographed. They realize that they are capturing a wonderful moment in time before another second of age steals away the eye candy of youth.  For those of our clients considering planning Colts Neck Boudoir Photos with us, you’ll find such inspiration from this powerhouse.

Stephanie, a personal trainer, knows all about taking care of herself. This former attorney and figure competitor looks half her age; perhaps even younger when viewed though a camera. Her fantastic physique graced our on-site locations and she was an absolute natural. In addition to her rockin’ boudoir images, Stephanie artfully posed like the model she is on our romantic balcony which overlooks the courtyard. My personal favorite image is of her wispy gaze peeking out from beneath a fur-lined hood. Simply gorgeous.

It’s hard to believe that woman has two teenage children! What a role model she has been for them. How wonderful that they will have some epic photographs of their mother to look back upon. Perhaps they will be inspired to keep living a healthy lifestyle.

Stephanie is proof that our bodies reflect how we treat them. When we consistently take good care of our skin, our muscles, and eat what benefits us, our bodies thank us. And we thank you, Stephanie, for sharing the masterpiece that is you.

Here is what Stephanie said in reflection of her experience:

I knew from the moment I entered the private drive that leads up the Je Revele Castle, that I was going to have a very memorable and special day! I could not help being swept away by the romantic atmosphere of the castle. I felt like I had been swept back to another time! When I entered the studio I was greeted by a wonderful Je Revele team member and the pampering began! I was immediately offered a glass of champagne (quite an indulgence at 9:00 am!), and a lovely fruit tray with assorted pastries. As I began to unwind from my 90 minute drive from PA the make up artist arrived. More pampering! I was soon transformed from my usual gym-rat self into a glamour goddess! This stylist was nothing short of AMAZING.
Then the wonderful Miss Natalie arrived! I had seen her incredible work and was already in awe of her, but her charm, humor and ability to make me feel at ease in front of the camera made me feel even more so! I was slightly nervous about such an intimate shoot, but it quickly melted away as Natalie made me giggle with nearly every click of the shutter!

I felt so empowered during the shoot! Sexy, confident, beautiful and happy! It is an indescribable high that every woman should indulge in at least once! I originally did this shoot for my husband, but the next one will be for myself!

The entire experience was a wonderful memory that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Oh, and did I mention the photography? The images speak for themselves. Too many great ones to choose from. The greatest compliment of all was the e-mail I received from my husband after I sent him the images from the i-phone app. He wrote that in the 21 years that we have been married he had never seen my beauty brought out so eloquently by any other photographer.
Natalie Licini, you are a STAR, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like one too!!

Stephanie, you, my dear, are a star as well. Thanks for sharing your beauty with all of us!

The Glow Within: New Jersey Boudoir Photographers Je Revele

While staying up late to watch the most recent Academy Awards, I marveled at the glamour and prestige that graced the red carpet.
So many stunning gowns. So much admiration from outside looking in. Yes, of course, the celebrities were all wearing customized gowns and had personal stylists create their looks, but still, the jaw dropping splendor seen everywhere I glanced could only reflect the inner beauty I gazed upon. Ah, the perfection of youth is so gloriously made manifest at the Oscars.

NEW JERSEY BOUDOIR
I find this same dynamic during shoots at the studio. Many of our New Jersey boudoir photography clients prepare for shoots, determining outfits and special looks. Perhaps more time at the gym or a new skin care regime help them feel even more radiant.

No matter what is done to enhance the natural aura of each client, I find myself amazed at how beautiful every woman truly is. No matter what stage of life she is in, her femininity is discovered during our shoot together. This is particularly true with some of my younger clients, who still have yet to realize how close to perfect their physical features are simply because of their youth.
Emily, age 26, reminds me of a delicate sprite. Her blonde silky hair, porcelain skin and prominent, piercing eyes fluttered every version of gorgeous that could be imagined.

NEW JERSEY BOUDOIR
Wearing a lovely lace garment which complemented her skin and eyes, she was stunning. All the essence of innocence and radiance were contained in her glances. When she slipped into a grand tulle skirt, her spirit was light and playful. Everything about Emily seemed to show that she was enjoying being a young woman… but is still a girl at heart. And her images will always remind her of this very fact.
Emily, thank you for reminding us that we all still have this glow within us. We don’t need to be on a red carpet to feel worthy.

Here is what Emily had to say about her time with us.

“My experience at Je Revele was absolutely wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about Michelle & Jessica. They both made me feel so comfortable and helped me really enjoy the whole experience.
I felt amazing during the shoot. I wanted a real classic look and Michelle nailed it! I totally felt like Marilyn Monroe for the day!
I’ll always love these pictures and remember the shoot. It will forever be one of the highlights of my 20’s and I’m so thrilled to be able to share my photos for the rest of my life with all the people I love. Especially my boyfriend, he loves them.
I loved the exhilarating feeling I got being in front of the camera. It was such a great day and I can’t thank everyone at Je Revele enough for creating such a special memory for me!”

NEW JERSEY BOUDOIR PHOTOS | JE REVELE BOUDOIR STUDIO

January 14, 2014 /

Helen Lawrenson once said, “If a woman is sufficiently ambitious, determined and gifted – there is practically nothing she can’t do.”
I’m beginning to wonder if Ms. Lawrenson hadn’t met the lovely Ms. Shanna. Encompassed by a lovely, siren -red ball gown, Shanna stood out like a prominent rose in the middle of our castle courtyard. As her feet glided across the cobblestones, the stone walls seemed to whisper admirably. With each twirl and sly smile, I smiled, aimed and captured her essence. Oh how exquisite to experience this moment with her!  When she called me to plan new jersey boudoir photos, I felt in those first few moments, that we would be friends.

I’m excited to see the confident spirit that Shanna exudes. Her attitude about herself is refreshing. It’s so important for a woman to embrace all that she is, and not feel as though she has to shield others from her bright light. Perhaps it’s because she has been a model since she was a small child or maybe she has worked on her own sense of self? Whatever the reason, Shanna was certainly not inhibited to be all that she so beautifully is!

During her pre-consultation conference, Shanna shared that she wanted to celebrate her femininity. How wonderful and inspiring! What if we all followed suit and did one act of kindness for ourselves each day to celebrate our womanhood? How the world would change for the better!

Throughout Shanna’s photo-shoot, she blossomed all the more. As out time together finished, I realized that I felt even better about myself. Her positive energy was contagious! It is my truest hope that all of our clients experience the same glow as evidenced in Shanna after spending a little time at Je Revele.

Shanna’s Feedback:

It was a great experience. You feel that it is “all about you” from the moment that you’re greeted in the courtyard. The setting is unsurpassed in NJ. I have never before been photographed by anyone that is world renowned such as Natalie. I treasure this shoot:).
Natalie made me feel as if all of my pictures were amazing & made sure that my poses translated well on camera. She also posed me when I had doubts about body position. My makeup & hair was beautifully done.
I was a model in a previous life & have been photographed since 5 by pros. Natalie is the first photographer that captured the real, true me. I actually cried when I saw some of the pictures. I did the shoot with Natalie to celebrate a transition in my life. I made the perfect selection of photographers for that.
Meeting Natalie & Mr. Kaplan were actually my highlights!

…one of the greatest joys about doing what you love is meeting someone like Shanna.  Initially a client, I can call her a friend.

New Jersey Boudoir Photographer | with Megan

Every year, Boudoir Photography is becoming increasingly popular. Based on my experience in the industry, I’d say it’s the hottest genre of portraiture on the market.

Time and time again women book sessions at one of our studios, and express their desire to “feel beautiful”
It is often the case during phone consultations, a woman will express that her significant other describes her attractiveness, but it’s not always the way she sees herself. She wants to create a portrait for her spouse so that he sees her beauty in a timeless way.
And when each individual client arrives at one of out studios, I smile in disbelief. Is this really the woman who described herself as a bookworm? She seriously felt as though she wasn’t noticed for the looker she so obviously is?

Sometimes it takes another person to help a woman feel safe enough to embrace her sensuality. Many times it’s a husband. Often times it is us. I’m so proud of the countless ways and times we have been able to pamper, uplift, inspire, encourage and help a woman recognize that she is, in every role she carries out, a living, breathing work of art.

Megan is one such example of this realization. Just take a glimpse of some of her fabulous boudoir portraits in New Jersey.

New Jersey Boudoir Photographer

Here is what Megan had to say about her experience at Je Revele:

“My experience at Je Revele was memorable. I had initially planned the shoot to be an anniversary surprise for my husband. What I got out of it was much more. All my life, I never thought of myself as a beautiful, attractive individual. I was known as the smart one, or the bookworm but never the one to always get asked on a date or be invited to parties. Until I went to college, I didn’t really know what it meant to be attractive. My husband was one of those people to allow me to see myself in a different light. Through the years though for some reason, my self-image went negative again and I needed a something to give me the reassurance that I was a beautiful, strong woman.
My husband has always found me to be sexy and with photography being something that we both admire, I thought why not capture what he loves in pictures. What I got out of the experience was a confidence about myself that I didn’t expect. I left the viewing of my photos with a pride for the woman I am and for the woman I exude for my husband. I finally can see clearly what he is so proud of and why he is so happy to have me as his wife.
Like most women about to do a boudoir shoot, I was extremely nervous. I admittedly entered the studio shaking a bit from being anxious about what was to come. However, upon meeting the stylist, I was immediately put at ease and felt like I was about to spend an afternoon with a girlfriend. Once made-up, my shoot began and Natalie made me feel so comfortable. It can be quite daunting for a woman to have her picture taken in such an intimate fashion but Natalie made the entire afternoon fun and relaxed. Also, such a photo shoot can feel very posed and stiff but again, Natalie was able to capture me in a natural light that made me feel true to myself and show exactly what I wanted to convey through my photos.
It is not often that I can feel that sexy and sensual about myself but when you do something for your husband, who wouldn’t. I couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere and experience.
My lasting memory from this experience was the reaction I got from my husband. Being that he is a hobbyist photographer, I have been his subject matter in the past for photos. He was happily shocked to see someone else catch me in a different light and have the ability to turn out with so many great pictures for him to choose from; the decision was not an easy one. I even think he saw me in a new light, probably one that radiated sexiness and sensuality but also one that gave him the approval that his wife was confident and comfortable with her own body.
The thing I loved the most about my session was the relationships I made with some women who I only met for a few hours. They gave me not only a great gift for my husband but a self-image that was improved and verified. There is nothing that could replace that kind of feeling or experience.”

A One-One Interview with Jessica Crespo,

Photographer Extraordinaire at Je Revele

When you look through the lens of your camera, is what you see different than what one might see from normal view?

While I feel like I can identify with most of my clients, I connect often with women who are mothers and wives.  I can really relate to them.  Sometimes when you become a wife or a mother you feel like you have become someone else- not the cute self you used to be.  Being the subject of a photo shoot allows a woman to reclaim herself in a way she may have forgotten who she was and is.

If you could go back and change something related to your education or your life as a student what would you change or what would you do differently?

I think the biggest evolution for me has been that I have transformed from  a shy, “little mouse” conservative person into an edgy outgoing, more self-confident and self assured person.

What kind of photography do you do? Do you enjoy it? Why or why not?

I enjoy doing weddings and boudoir photography.  I feel as though I have developed a “super power”  of empathy and intuition.  Having experienced these themes in my own life, my intuition is keenly on-point.  I feel a strong connection to my clients during these shoots.

What are the pros and cons of being a photographer? Please be specific.

Being a photographer is very empowering.  I have the opportunity to bring so much joy to people.   I love being an entrepreneur and taking control of my own destiny.  I get to meet lots of interesting people and see wonderful aspects of life. If there are cons, I suppose it’s what people do not realize.   Photography isn’t only glamorous.  There is a lot of editing, billing and paperwork involved.

If you weren’t a photographer, what would you want to be? Why?

I used to think I wanted to be a teacher or a lawyer. Now I know I’d love to be a travel blogger!  I’d be able to travel the world, enjoy the cultures and wines of each region and capture my experiences in photographs and in words.

What would you say is most important: good knowledge or good equipment?

It’s not the camera that takes the photograph.  Capturing a look requires more than just technique. I like to think that I take photos with my heart.

If you could work alongside of any photographer, who would it be?

I feel privileged to work with Natalie Licini, owner and head photographer at Je Revele.  She is a fabulous mentor, full of humility, kindness and patience.  And she has a sharp eye!

I also follow and admire the work of Jerry Ghionis, a renowned photographer, based out of Australia.  He is known as one of the top 5 wedding photographers in the world.   His work is an inspiration to me.

What genre of photography do you least like and why?

I am not a  big fan of traditionally posed photographs.  For me, it’s like painting.  A creative artist enjoys picking up a brush and allowing the brush to be a tool on the canvas.  What results, hopefully, is a unique expression.  Such a painter would not enjoy the kind of painting one dies when painting a room in a house.  Although that kind of painting requires skill and precision, it leaves little room for creativity on the part of the painter.  That’s a bit what it’s like for me.  Merely positioning people for a traditional, stiff portrait pose does not always allow room for the artistic signature of the photographer.  I like to capture each person’s personality, which is often seen through movements and mannerisms, not in sitting still like a statue.
