If These Walls Could Speak
What a wonderful delight it is to get to know our clients during a photo shoot. We spend such an intensely intimate amount of time together. We strive to become acquainted with each person’s desires, dreams, and fears. And at the end of each and every session, we always feel like we’ve made another good friend.
For precisely these reasons, we are over the MOON when a client returns to our new jersey photography studio for another session. Knowing the client was happy with our previous work, we are braced for the challenge of capturing additional elements of their life not seen in the last session. In some cases we get to bask in the glow of maternity radiance. Other times, the change is a tiny fragile infant embraced by love and soft blankets. Perhaps the family has tagged along for a portrait session? In this follow up visit, that’s precisely what happened.
The Chemo family embodies the charm of a Norman Rockwell painting. All four members being so good looking, it wasn’t difficult to pose them for a best angle. However, their two sons definitely stole the show with their adorable antics. Dressed so gorgeously in cerulean blue Pole sweaters, their smiles, glimmers of playfulness and love for each other took command of the lens. Through the eyes of these boys, we can see the deepest of bonds and truest of loves shared between their parents and for themselves.
To see them all together is exquisite.
Even the castle walls seemed to recognize their brilliance.
For me, it was a more personal recognition. I felt pride. To have the honor of seeing former clients and having them return to me for more. To know they believe in what we do and most importantly, to see the radiance we were able to capture and appreciate its value.
What an honor to photograph you! We look forward to seeing you again! Here’s a sneak peak inside their 2013 holiday card. This is a lovely trifolded design with the top design the outside and the lower design -the inside.
Here’s what Kim had to say about her experiences at the castle:
Being at the castle is always a pleasure. Natalie and her team are sweet and always make you feel at home. From the moment you walk in they always ready to give you a beverage of your choice and make you feel like a movie star!
My favorite features are the castle and architecture in the building gives such old world charm.
I hate taking pictures but the Je Revele team definitely makes you feel comfortable in your own skin. I have only done family and business portraits but hope to build up the courage to do boudoir portraits one day. I know Natalie and her team will make me feel like a princess.
There is always lasting memories when visiting the castle. My boys absolutely adore Natalie. My older boy loves taking pictures and Natalie actually let him take a picture with her own cameras and two years later he still talking about it. And my little one has such a crush on her.
There are so many things I love about my sessions from getting my hair and make up done and feeling like the most important person in the world for photo shoot.
And here are some of our favorite pictures captured at the castle…
…I couldn’t resist sharing their 2012 holiday card! I love to watch our families grow year after year!
We love the Chemo Family, especially Andrew and Jakey!!!

“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both. ”― James A. Michener
New Vision
It all started with a dream in 2008. Je Revele originally Natalie Licini Photography was once merely an aspiration, birthed in the mind of a focused businesswoman whom envisioned the idea of combining photography with fine art.
As artists, we have found that one of the secrets to success is discovered when taking time to reflect upon progress made and then setting goals for what is to come. And in our studio at Je Revele, we proudly do this with our clients during every photo session. We help clients realize their greatest aspects, traits and strengths so they can be visualized in timeless works of art to be admired by future generations.
We’re not huge fans of typical New Year’s Resolutions, instead, we create action plans based on specific goals allowing us to see our plans through to completion.
To begin the process, I like to think about the different things that have happened in the previous year as well as in the years prior leading up until this point. It’s important to reflect on both the good things that happened and things that weren’t so wonderful. For the latter, rather than dwell on them, we take note of anything we learned or ways we could achieve a better outcome in the future.
Most importantly, we believe we should celebrate our successes. We have learned that such positive vibes set an energy, which attracts more success.
Some favorite highlights from our sessions in 2013 relate to the following areas.
New Genres of Photography
Over the course of 2013, we are so pleased to share that we conducted over 200 photo shoots. 60% of these shoots were boudoir/beauty shoots. We fondly refer to boudoir and beauty shoots as intimate portraits, which has proven to be, year after year, our most popular genre. Our newborn/maternity sessions continue to grow year after year. We had the great privilege of photographing FOUR sets of twins at our Highland Park studio.
We also expanded our genre repertoire. Je Revele launched a whole new category of men’s portraiture in the summer of 2013. Several of the photographs seen on the website won awards at WPPI later in 2013.
We also, upon the requests from some of our clients, launched the pet-ography genre, which animal lovers will find to be delightful focusing on our furry little friends.
With cameras in hand, we excitedly photographed famous singers, a basketball star and a news anchorwoman this year. “Talk about being nervous – ahh” ~Natalie
We are always so grateful to clients for traveling from near and far to be photographed by us. But we felt so honored when clients flew from Dubai/France and California to be photographed at the castle.
New Renovations
Our Highland Park studio has undergone a transformation over the past year. The castle was the former home of the Johnson and Johnson family and as you can imagine, required the skill and expertise of someone meticulous who could transform my space yet maintain the old world charm. Under the direction of our talented interior designer Rose Abby, gorgeous wall paper, custom drapery, chandeliers, crown moldings, wardrobe, a fireplace in our viewing room was installed…and that’s just for starters. Now it really is a fairy tale modern studio set in a historic castle.
New Videography
In 2013, Je Revele has released its second commercial. This newest installment, filmed on location, can be found on the Je Revele website or by clicking here:

New Professional Development
Natalie second-shot a wedding with her mentor Bambi Cantrell. She is still gushing over this honor!
Natalie taught a photography course for gifted students at Middlesex County during the early part of the spring. She also co-presented a workshop with world-renowned photographer Nik Pekridis. Pekridis soon after joined Je Revele to lead our Wedding team in our NYC studio.
Team Je Revele embarked on a weekend getaway to The Lodge at Woodloch for an office retreat. It was a surreal experience for each participant.
We truly celebrate our professional development knowing that training and personal development is paramount for our team’s successes.
New Studio!
An opportunity arose albeit a little earlier than we dreamed. We acquired a second property in the Upper West side of Manhattan to serve as our second studio. Je Revele has expanded to serve clients in NYC!
To help with the launch of the new studio, Natalie was able to utilize the talented resources of Zoe Richards, a British based photographer and entrepreneur.
New Staff
Je Revele proudly welcomed new additions to staff in 2013.
Jessica Crespo, Lead Photographer
Charity Fues, Director of Social Media
Cara Schwab, Director of Client Experience
Nik Pekridis, Lead Wedding Photographer
The uber talented Lara Saggese, Kristin McCandless, Hannah Ho and Tatiana Rodriquez also joined the team with Natalie and her right hand Michelle Ernest.
New Baby
At the start of Spring, Natalie gave birth to her 3rd child. This time it was a boy! Welcome to the world Luc Declan!
New Clients
We at Je Revele are so appreciative of all of the clients that we have met over the year and in years prior. We look forward to meeting your future photographic needs. We are committed to you, our communities, and our families. Please keep us in mind if you’d like us to consider sponsoring your organization for special fundraisers in 2014.
New Year
As we embark on a new year, remember to reflect on all you have learned from last year. Count your blessings. Learn from your mistakes. We hope you will join us as we follow the advice of Howard Thurman, when he wrote,
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
Here’s to a wonderful and lively 2014!

Family Time: Family Photos Taken in a Historic NJ Castle
There are few sights more beautiful than a young couple with their infant child. If I could look up PROMISE in the dictionary, such an image is what I’d imagine seeing. So precious is this time, full of possibility and hope for the future. Such a blending of dreams. It is hard not to feel nostalgic and optimistic when in the presence of such love. TingHo and her husband Christopher, college sweethearts, came to castle in search of capturing the special bond shared between them, evidenced in the adorable looks of their little son, Nino. Their portraits reflect the essence of family.
TingHo and Christopher are a lovely, multicultural family- she, Taiwanese and he, Italian. They seemed to love the experience of being at the castle and we loved having them!
The setting can really make the difference when photographing the special bond between family members. Just knowing the very studio being used for a session is a castle adds to the glamour and excitement of the whole experience. We are please to have been able to provide the royal treatment for such a lovely couple and child.
TingHo’s Feedback
The experience was very pleasant. We like the location of the studio and the photographer Jessica was friendly and welcoming. She did a good job to make us look good!
I felt very comfortable – it almost like hanging out with my son and husband in a cool place.
We got to dress up sitting in a castle! That was special. And we played with our son – although he got impatient at the end, it was still funny to see some of the pictures that he was crying.
I love the environment (including the furniture) the most. And due to unexpected rain we hope next time to have out door photos taken at the castle.

We look forward to photographing baby Nino as he grows! And next time, it’ll be outside!!

The Beauty of Humility
Beauty announces itself in many different ways. Sometimes it is bold and sharp. Other times it is quiet and serene. From the moment I met Jamie, I knew she was an example of the latter. Jamie wanted to give her husband, who was about to be deployed to Afghanistan, an unforgettable keepsake. I like to think that this is why she, after studying French for three years, was drawn to Je Revele. Perhaps she wanted to reveal herself as how she truly is. Gorgeous. Luminous. Captivating.
Jamie exuded a quiet intensity which came to fruition during her boudoir shoot at the castle. Her large round eyes glanced shyly to the side with an intimate, yet sly grin. Cascading tresses and porcelain skin all flanked by delicate, romantic textile. As the session progressed, Jamie blossomed into dazzling work of art.
What made such an impression on me, I believe, stems from her quiet humility. Like a rare flower in the wilderness, her beauty simply is. It doesn’t need an audience.
Unforgettable. That she is.
Jamie’s Feedback
I was so nervous and excited when I pulled up to Je Revele. I consider myself pretty awkward and goofy, I thought “how am I going to pull of posing for boudoir photos?!” But as soon as I met Jessica and Michelle I felt very comfortable.
During the shoot I felt very much at ease. They helped me to feel beautiful.
I think the whole experience will stick with me. Getting pampered, feeling beautiful, and capturing that moment. It was a very nice time. I loved how comfortable Jessica made me feel during my session. I’m sure my awkwardness would have shown if it weren’t for her ability to help me relax.
Here are some of our favorite portraits of Jamie.

Beauty is Timeless
–
Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Catherine Zeta Jones, Angelina Jolie… these are just a few of the women whom I consider to be timeless beauties. Like an exquisite wine, she becomes more beautiful each passing year, and not merely because of what she looks like on the surface. She exudes class, charisma, compassion and personal integrity that is authentic and hypnotizing. Often times, such women became film sirens. In my field, the alarms begin to ring when such beauties are caught on my camera.
Abbie is most certainly Grace Kelly incarnate. What a regal, elegant beauty! When she leaned against the fortress wall and flashed those brilliant blue eyes, I was awestruck. Cascading ribbons of blond hair, high cheekbones and pointed gaze that could stop traffic, Abbie owned the shoot. She moved from set to set with poise and purpose. Enigmatic.
Chapter after chapter in life will pass by, but true beauty, which resides deep within, will remain, adapting to each era. A timeless beauty has learned to cherish herself, not merely hinging on the words of an admirer, lover or spouse. Because when all is said and done, we all begin and end with ourselves alone.
I think I understand it better now. Our work is so much more than just photographing beautiful people. It’s capturing a person’s essence, soul, dreams and desires in a way that simply cannot be expressed in words. Because we need our eyes to see and our minds to comprehend what is captured in one moment. Her moment.
Forever.
Abbie’s Feedback
It definitely made me feel like I “owned” it. I had gone through some tough things the last couples years and this reminded me that I still can be beautiful and light in spirit.
I definitely felt comfortable. I felt like the staff was for me and wanted me to love the photos. They took most nerves away…even if Natalie kept making funny comments to get me to crack up. Just that the staff made me feel like I was beautiful and that I was without trying.. which was nice.
How Natalie helped me decide what outfits/jewelry I was going to wear. I needed help deciding and she was great at narrowing it down. Otherwise I believe I would have had a lot of trouble.
Here are a few of our favorite portraits of Grace Kelly… I mean Abbie.
